Ergonomic Office Chairs

  1. The ergonomic office chairs selected for you office should have easily adjustable features.
  2. There should be strong base with five legs provided by these chairs which can roll over the floor very easily.
  3. You should be able to revolve these chairs at 360 degrees so that you can access everything around your workstation without straining or twisting.
  4. The ergonomic chairs should have at least 16 inches height.
  5. These chairs should have length between 15 to 17 inches.
  6. The seat width should be about 18 inches and it should provide enough space for user’s thighs.
  7. There should be pads on the edges of ergonomic chairs with soft shapes and support should be provided with firm material.
  8. The minimum adjustable tilt of seat pan in ergonomic chairs should be around 15 degrees in forward and backward direction.
  9. You should not get extremely contoured seats because there can be restriction to different sitting postures and it can be uncomfortable for the users.
  10. The front edge of ergonomic chairs should be rounded in waterfall design.
  11. The material used in Ergonomic office chairs for seat pan should be breathable, firm and resilient.
  12. The depth adjustments of seat pan should be done easily. You should not choose ergonomic chairs which can provide back tilt only for forward and backward because users will not have enough adjustment. You can have ergonomic chairs with seat pans which can slide backward and forward and users can have fixed back. Some ergonomic chairs have fixed seat pans and backrest can be moved horizontally forward and backward. The adjustments in effective depth of seat pan can be made easily.
  13. These chairs should be 15 inches in height and 12 inches in width and there should be good lumbar support by these chairs according to the curve of your lower back.
  14. You should be able to wide the backrest of your ergonomic office chairs at their base and it should not meddle with your arms.
  15. You should be able to recline at 15 degrees with backrest and lock into place for firm support.
  16. There should be support provided by these chairs for your upper trunk, neck and shoulder area. If the recline of backrest is more than 30 degrees then head rest of these chairs should be provided.
  17. There should be removable armrests in ergonomic chairs and distance should be adjustable and this distance should be 16 inches.
  18. The height of armrests in these should be 7 inches to 10.5 inches from seat pan. If there are multiple users then fixed height armrests can be used.
  19. The armrests should provide support to your forearms with length and width without meddling with work surface.
  20. There should be firm and soft padding in these chairs.
